Hello from Hollie B!  Hello! Welcome to the E&M Booths second ever post (woo!) Let me start by saying thankyou for entering this space and taking an interest in E&M Booth. I wanted to take the time to share with you some of my/our thinking and the journey of the E&M booth.  T he journey  A few months ago, the talented, Sammy J White starred as a guest host on a teacher radio station. I was lucky enough to be invited to one of the shows and share some thoughts and ideas surrounding education – when I say Sammy is a natural, it does not do her justice! Anyway, a week or so later an idea sprung into my mind for Sammy. I sent her a voice note on WhatsApp and said why doesn’t she kick start an E&M podcast – She has always shown so much passion and patience for maths and her learners, I thought the sector need to see this. Not long after I sent it, could have even been minutes, she said replied… ‘lets do it’ – I was stopped in my tracks…could I do this? I didn’t even ackn

Hello from the M of the E&M Booth

  Welcome! E&M Booth is a podcast by @hblx93 and myself. I am the M part, the maths part! I have been in FE maths for 8 years, I have left secure employment in an FE college but maintained my teaching hours as a sessional maths lecturer. I can't stop teaching FE maths! I love it! I love the enthusiasm of the learners, not every lesson, I recognise maths is a challenge. But that lightbulb moment when they grasp a new concept gives me a lift and a buzz that cannot be beaten! Hollie and I met online. We have never met face to face, but I don't think that matters. We feel connected and have learnt from each other so much already. Our care for each other and respect led us t many spaces to share and connect. In all these spaces we felt that we were on the sidelines of general FE chat as English and maths teachers. We knew stories of joy and impressive efforts with extreme success in our areas. But who was sharing these? We created the podcast specifically to amplify those storie
